In
1953 Margaret Clutter started our business and
she called it Margaret’s Knit Blocking. As
a matter of fact she didn’t even do dry cleaning,
just pressing and knit blocking.
Knit
blocking is the process of restoring a knitted
item to its desired shape by repeatedly steaming,
adjusting, and cooling the garment until the shape
is locked into the knit. All knits distort with
both wearing and cleaning and should be blocked
by an experienced blocker after each cleaning.
You don’t want the same person that just
pressed your khaki golf pants to block your sweater.
It is an art only developed with experience.
